Patterns in the Whole

As a professional photographer I tend to get sucked into my commercial and industrial work, and forget about my own stuff. To counter this I try to capture images while on assignment for myself too, totally out of brief, but staying within the theme.

I do a fair amount of mining work, mostly gold, zinc, platinum and coal, above and below ground.

This triptych of mining still lives is something typically found in engineering workshops on the mine site, where a collection of items is slowly built up over many years.

I do not touch or move anything, I see a shot and capture it.
