Welcome to my world! I'm Karl, a photographer specialising in product and commercial photography for South African and international brands, based right here in Port Elizabeth, now known as Gqeberha.

My journey into photography began with an Honours Degree in Fine Art (Photography) at Rhodes University, where I was fortunate to be mentored by the renowned photographer Obie Oberholzer.

After my studies, I started my career as a photographer in Johannesburg before my path led me into the corporate world of information technology and knowledge management.

However, my passion for photography never waned, and in 2009, I made the decision to return to photography full-time.

Living by the coast has been a tremendous source of inspiration and tranquility for me. I find solace in watching whales play while enjoying a cold beer at the ocean. My life is shared with my wife, Marion, and our diverse family of rescue animals, including Jasper the ginger cat. 

A significant portion of my work is dedicated to international mining clients, taking me to diverse locations around the world. From the rugged landscapes of Patagonia to the lush rainforests of the Amazon and the vibrant cultures of Ghana and Tanzania, I've been fortunate to capture the beauty of these destinations through my lens.
